Según el sujeto, la forma del verbo TO BE en pasado cambia:
- El pasado de to be (ser/estar):
- was = primera y tercera persona singular (I, he, she, it).
- were = segunda persona singular y plural, y primera persona plural (you, we, they).
POSITIVE
Sujeto + was/were + complemento
I was at the park yesterday. (Yo estuve en el parque ayer.)
NEGATIVE
Sujeto + was/were + not + complemento. (La forma abreviada es wasn’t y weren’t)
She wasn’t happy. (Ella no estaba feliz.)
QUESTIONS
Was/Were + sujeto + complemento?
Were you at school last Monday? (¿Estuviste en la escuela el lunes pasado?)
